<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article discusses the importance of high oxygen permeability (Dk) for modern rigid contact lenses, especially in conditions of night wear (orthokeratology) and the use of scleral lenses. The use of silicone monomers such as Styrl TRIS makes it possible to achieve Dk values up to 180–250 while simultaneously improving lens stiffness and wettability.
